Elizabeth Sutherland

Elizabeth is the Sutherland in Sutherland Weston. She is a respected professional whose special skills are recognized and used by a variety of organizations, corporations, and individuals. Elizabeth received the national designation, Accredited in Public Relations (APR), in 2002 – the designation signifies a high professional level of experience and competence.

Elizabeth founded Blue Paper Communications in 2003 after more than a decade of corporate and not-for-profit public relations experience. She became a partner in Sutherland Weston in 2005 with the merger of CM Weston and Blue Paper Communications.

Elizabeth worked for the United States Senate, the American Red Cross, and Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems in increasingly complex public relations roles before launching out on her own in 2003.  She is a graduate of the 2006 Bangor Region Leadership Institute and she serves in a leadership capacity for a variety of organizations, including the Maine Public Relations Council and the Katahdin Area Boy Scouts. 

Elizabeth is a talented writer, graphic designer, researcher and strategist. She is also an avid cyclist, reader of all things written, mother of two boys and wife to a radio-talk-show host. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College.
