Meet the Team

Our mission has remained firm since day one and we’re thrilled to work with some iconic brands and honored to be working side by side with growing companies.
Elizabeth is the Sutherland in Sutherland Weston. Originally from “The County,” after college Elizabeth worked for the United States Senate, the American Red Cross, and Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems in increasingly complex public relations roles before launching out on her own. She is a graduate of the Bangor Region Leadership Institute and she serves in leadership roles for a variety of organizations.
Elizabeth is a talented writer, graphic designer, researcher and strategist. She is also an avid cyclist, reader, would-be runner, mother of two boys and wife to a radio-talk-show host.
Cary is the person that will cut through the trendy business speak and help define what the real goal is. A fan of function over form, his charge is to ensure that creative doesn’t mask the need and that the work is focused on results. Too honest at times, he believes the world could benefit from some more ‘old-fashioned’ and less ‘bright and shiny.’
Cary is active on a number of community boards and causes and has served as both city councilor and mayor of his home town Bangor.
He can juggle, make wine, can say the alphabet backwards, thinks A1 is a national treasure, and once took home a trophy in a stand-up comedy competition. But the role he loves best is being blessed to serve as a proud husband and dad to a happy and healthy family. He lives in Bangor with his wife Tori and three children.
Holly CainFinance Director
Holly is originally from the “The County” but now makes her home in Orrington with her husband Zack and son Eli. She graduated from Presque Isle High School and completed the Office Assist program at Northern Maine Community College. Her work history has primarily been in the healthcare field.
When not managing the financials and all things billing for the firm or using her baking superpowers, mothering, or volunteering on multiple committees in her church, Holly enjoys spending her “free time” crocheting, reading, taking day trips to the coast, and spending time at her camp on Chemo Pond.
Dan CashmanPublic Relations Director
Dan Cashman is an Old Town native, having spent nearly his entire life in Eastern Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine in 2000 with a degree in mass communications and spent a summer in New York City interning for MSNBC and WFAN radio. After graduating, Dan spent six years working in radio before segueing into a position as assistant press secretary for Gov. John Baldacci. Dan stayed in that role until 2009 when he left state government to start a small business in Bangor. Dan joined Sutherland Weston in October of 2015 as the Public Relations Director.
Dan lives in Brewer with his adorable kids, his adorable wife, and his tolerable cats.
Ken LozierWeb Development Manager
Raised in Bucksport, Ken spent his high school years performing on stage in school musicals and rocking out on drums. Graduating in 2005, Ken went to the University of Maine to study new media. There he met his wife Amanda (also a New Media student) and they graduated together in 2009.
Ken started part-time at Sutherland Weston in January 2013. He was most likely hired because of his irresistible charm and dashingly good looks. Ken now works full time as the web development manager and has become an award-winning list maker.
Amanda AndersonGraphic Designer
Hailing from Southern Maine, Amanda works between Sutherland Weston’s specialized teams to coordinate creative visions across the various materials that we create for our clients. By day, she works with headphones full of Rush songs. By night, she plays one mean kobold gunslinger in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, where her husband Ian is the dungeon master and her cat Waffles verifies dice rolls.
Ric TylerMedia Services Manager
Ric brings more than 30 years of television and radio production, writing, and research to Sutherland Weston. With a journalism background which includes a journalism degree from the University of Maine, Ric’s experience in news reporting, and news writing aids in creating vibrant advertising copy, spicy conceptual design and attention-grabbing media relations materials.
At Sutherland Weston, Ric helps lead the creative video and audio campaign team in the development of television, radio, and social media efforts.

Ellen TooleHuman Resources Director
Originally hailing from the Pennsylvania coal region, Ellen is a graduate of Boston College, a mother of two, and a Sutherland Weston account manager.
When not obsessing on the minutiae of her Sutherland Weston projects, Ellen enjoys reading, listening to music, hanging with friends, and traveling the world… 27 countries and counting!
Ellen is also the co-author of the acclaimed web comic Gracieland, and a cartoon character herself in the graphic novel The Dumbest Idea Ever!
Kristen OliverSenior Account Manager
A proud Mainer and Bangor native, Kristen graduated from John Bapst Memorial High School and went on to earn her degree from the New England School of Communications. As a “NESComer,” Kristen was part of a team of marketing students who placed runner up in the National Honda CR-Z Media Challenge through a successful public relations campaign. Kristen is a happy member of the account management team at SWMC.
In her spare time, Kristen enjoys embracing her love of maps, watching hockey, and spending time with her husband, Matthew and their wrinkle dog, Sydney.
Kate BielinskiSenior Account Manager
With experience spanning media, finance, and education in Philadelphia and Bangor, Kate brings a versatile skill set to her role at Sutherland Weston. Always learning about new industry trends and brushing up on fundamentals, Kate thrives on teaching, inspiring, and solving problems for clients.
Debunking the myth of left-brain vs right-brain, Kate is both analytical and creative. From charts, graphs, and data mining to design, copy writing, and crafting innovative solutions, Kate loves every aspect of marketing.
Outside the office, Kate enjoys hiking with her family, dabbling in weight training (last summer she hit a deadlift PR of 220lb), and cuddling up with a good book. An avid traveler, Kate has spent the last two years filling her passport with stamps from Europe, the UK, and South America. She hopes to visit all seven continents by 2020.
Brad LaBreeAccount Manager
Originally a Mainer, Brad received his BA in Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago and returned to his home state of Maine in 2011. You may recognize him from one of his many performances at the Penobscot Theatre Company—he is a seasoned actor, writer and live event manager. Brad is currently pursuing his MBA as well as his own independent creative projects.
During his downtime he enjoys creating culinary masterpieces with his wife Kat.
Jeff DreherWeb Developer
Jeff has been designing and building websites for over 15 years, when his high school first got a computer lab full of iMacs. When not building websites, he enjoys playing video games, board games, playing French horn in the local community band, and growing his giant Lego collection. If he tries really hard, he can solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than a minute.
Jeff lives in Bangor with his wife, two young children, and his dog, Ninja.
Bridgit CayerGraphic Designer
Bridgit is a Mainer who grew up in the Newport region. She brings more than 15 years of graphic design experience to the SW team. She sees clients’ needs as long-term strategic missions and prides herself on being able to meet those needs with creativity in a timely manner.
Loves: logos, fancy paper, Tim Horton’s maple oatmeal, and instructing fitness classes.
Doesn’t love: winter. Bridgit wears enormous chunky sweaters and drives a Subaru.
Sarah OsborneGraphic and Production Specialist
Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree from New England School of Communications with a focus in Web Media, and she shares her graphic design, web design, and photography skills with us. She delights in artistic collaboration and teamwork.
As an adventure seeker she enjoys taking advantage of the four seasons, especially hiking and fishing. When the elements get to be too much she enjoys drawing and spending time with her Husband and their dog, Arrow.
Sarah is our Graphic & Production Specialist here at Sutherland • Weston Marketing Communications, and her pleasant demeanor makes her awesome to work with. She is also involved in the community as a member of Tuesday Forum and volunteering for various committees.
Mary AustinAdministrative Assistant
Mary is currently a student at John Bapst Memorial High School. When she isn’t working at Sutherland Weston as an administrative assistant, she can be found volunteering at Saint Joseph’s Hospital during the summer months or working on various projects for school.
In her spare time, Mary enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her dog, Norman.
